Day - 1 Arrive Colombo
Upon arrival at the Bandaranayake International Airport (Colombo Airport), you will be received by the chauffeur and transferred to the hotel. The day begins with a visit to one of the most important places of learning and spirituality - The Gangaramaya Temple. Afterwards, visit the Seema Malaka Temple, a tiny temple that is built on a lake and can only be reached by a small bridge. Rest of the day is at your own pace. Overnight will be at Colombo.
Day - 2 Colombo to Udawalawe National Park By road 175 kms / 5hrs
After breakfast drive towards Udawalawe National park to spot the famous Srilankan elephant. Udawalawe was created to provide a sanctuary for wild animals displaced by the construction of the Udawalawe Reservoir. Other than the elephants, the park is home to water buffalo, monitor lizards, sambar deer and the occasional leopard, as well as it is an exciting location for bird enthusiasts. Take an afternoon game drive in Udawalawe National park and return to the hotel for a night. Overnight will be at Udawalawe.
Day - 3 Udawalawe National Park to Bundala to Thissamaharama By road 62 kms / 2hrs
After breakfast drive towards Ath Thru Sevana which is Elephant Transit Home. Ath Athuru Sevana’ is a government managed Elephant Transit Home in Udawalawe, Sri Lanka. The baby elephants residing here were found abandoned, orphaned, sick or wounded in the jungle. They are kept and treated at this Elephant Transit Home and looked after till they are ultimately fit enough to be released back to the wild.
Thereafter you will be driven to the bird sanctuary in Bundala National Park.
After completing the visit you will be taken to Thissamaharama for a night.
Overnight will be at Thissamaharama.
Day - 4 Thissamaharama to Yala to Thissamaharama
After an early breakfast, drive to Yala National park to enjoy two(morning and evening) games drives to site elusive leopard. Later return to Thissamaharama for an overnight.
Day - 5 Thissamaharama to Mirissa By road 120 kms / 3hrs
After breakfast depart for the coastal town of Mirissa. Mirissa still offers the charm of an idyllic fishing village while providing excellent accommodation choices, catering for all budgets and needs. Enjoy walks along un-crowded beaches, still untouched by mass tourism and watch the fascinating and famous stilt fishermen. Reach Mirissa and relax at the Mirissa beach. Overnight will be at Mirissa
Day - 6 Mirissa to Bentota By road 95 kms / 2 hrs
After an early breakfast, we will go on a whale & dolphin watching tour along the coast of Mirissa. The waters off Mirissa in the southern coast of Sri Lanka are home to some of the largest whale and dolphin colonies in the world. Good time to see these nature’s giants is between November till May. Later, continue your drive to Bentota. On the way, visit the Turtle Hatchery in Kosgoda and soon after stop at Balapitiya for scenic boat ride through massive mangrove caves. Overnight will be at Bentota.
Day - 7 Bentota to Colombo By road 85kms / 2hrs
Enjoy leisurely breakfast at the hotel and then drive to Colombo. Reach Colombo and check in to the hotel. Later in the evening you can explore the colorful markets of Colombo. Overnight will be at Colombo.
Day 8 Colombo Departure
After breakfast, visit Colombo by driving through the commercial and city center known as the Fort. Visit Pettah market and the National Museum. You could also visit a Buddhist Temple and a Hindu Kovil to experience the diversity of religion. If time permits, you may also go some shopping. Later, as per your flight timings, you will be transferred to the airport to take a flight back home with sweet memories of the tour. TOUR ENDS !
